Reese’s Book Club is seeking a Social Media Director to work in a hands-on-role to develop and execute the strategy for Reese’s Book Club (RBC). We are seeking a self-starter who is well-versed across all social media platforms and has agency or in-house experience overseeing social media strategy at a brand, agency, book group, or publisher. 

This position will lead the strategic planning, development, ongoing execution and management of social media activities for RBC. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker who has experience authoring strategy, conceptualizing/ editing/ managing/ scheduling creative and social assets, working with book talent and authors, and using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide their work. A big ideas person, you are able and eager to brainstorm collectively as well as individually, to keep social content fresh, exciting, and creative. You’ve worked with clients/ brands and know how to integrate them into editorial/ social in an organic way where storytelling is paramount. You’re also known as an amazing leader and can thoughtfully communicate and delegate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the social media strategy, social media campaigns and tactical plans from beginning to implementation, to support the objectives.
  • Author and oversee social media content creation, planning, and execution, ensuring alignment with broader business, editorial, and audience goals.
  • Ensure all content is aligned with the RBC brand voice and ladders up to the strategy, route necessary approvals and department briefs.
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally across the org to assist with larger tentpoles, events and company-wide initiatives.
  • Define and develop comprehensive performance goals to optimize social media efforts daily, while leveraging learnings and adapting.
  • Analyze campaign results and determine audience behavior and engagement to ensure that insights are integrated into current and future strategies.
  • Present strategies, analysis, and key learnings regularly to senior leadership and various stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of emerging social media platforms and best-in-class tactics, as well as look for opportunities to innovate.
  • Identify industry trends, relevant news, and other opportunities to increase RBC’s share of voice in the space.
  • Build and execute against social plans for RBC initiatives (new and current)
  • Work closely across departments; lead brainstorms, reporting and activations.
  • Track projects, resources, workload and needs in tandem with project managers.
  • Develop social strategy for monthly book content and continue to amplify and create content for RBC authors (their new books) and book to screen (new and legacy).
  • Oversee monthly book giveaways with Hello Sunshine social team.
  • Own oversight of photo/ video shoots with authors and book talent, including creators.
  • Work closely with publishers monthly for book announces.
  • Lead brainstorm with team for monthly book announce and new ways to continually elevate and amplify
  • Foster and participate in our overall Hello Sunshine values and vision.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor your team. Be open with communication, provide growth paths, and share the larger business vision.

Requirements

    • Experience running social media for a brand, media company, agency, or publishing entity.
    • The position requires a candidate with significant experience with brands that involve talent or creators and directing social campaigns to support live content, events, commerce, book publishing, podcast, and launches. 
    • Experience maintaining and growing social audiences across multiple platforms.
    • Self-starter and creative thinker with astute attention to detail, you are proactive and able to work on tight deadlines.
    • Well-versed in current and emerging social platforms, their products, and trends.
    • Creative thinker capable of conceptualizing and presenting big ideas and new formats.
    • An eye for visual design and ability to capture and curate best-in-class social content.
    • Strong writing and editorial skills.
    • A lover of books and storytelling with a passion for centering and advancing female narratives.
    • Experience using marketing tools like Google business, Canva, CapCut, Premiere, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Later.
    • Have experience leading and managing direct reports.

Benefits

This position has an estimated base salary range between $135,000 - $150,000
