Full Job Description
Are you passionate about creating smart devices that enhance lives and connect seamlessly to the Internet of Things (IoT)? Do you have a talent for developing innovative solutions that combine cutting-edge hardware with intuitive software? If you thrive on building connected devices that bring intelligence to homes, industries, and everyday objects, our client has the perfect role for you. We’re looking for a Smart Device Developer (aka The Innovator of Connected Gadgets) to design and develop smart, user-centric devices that redefine convenience and efficiency across industries.
As a Smart Device Developer at our client, you’ll work with hardware engineers, software developers, and UX designers to create devices that are intuitive, scalable, and smart. From smart home products to wearable technology and industrial IoT applications, your work will be integral to bringing intelligent, connected solutions to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop Smart Devices:
- Architect and develop smart devices from concept to production. You’ll design the interaction between hardware and software, ensuring seamless communication between components, sensors, and back-end systems to create intuitive user experiences.
- Integrate IoT Connectivity and Cloud Services:
- Develop solutions that enable smart devices to communicate with cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT) using protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, or HTTP. You’ll ensure that devices can connect securely and efficiently, enabling real-time data exchange and control.
- Collaborate on Hardware-Software Integration:
- Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure optimal integration of sensors, actuators, and other hardware components with device software. You’ll develop firmware that ensures responsive and stable performance across a range of connected devices.
- Optimize Device Performance and Power Consumption:
- Focus on optimizing smart devices for performance and power efficiency. You’ll ensure that devices run efficiently, whether they’re powered by battery or plugged in, while maintaining responsiveness and data accuracy.
- Develop Smart Device User Interfaces (UIs):
- Design and implement intuitive user interfaces for smart devices, ensuring seamless interaction between users and connected systems. You’ll collaborate with UX/UI teams to create interfaces that are user-friendly, responsive, and visually appealing.
- Secure Devices and Ensure Data Privacy:
- Implement security best practices to protect smart devices from vulnerabilities. You’ll ensure that data transmitted between devices and the cloud is encrypted and that the devices are protected from potential security threats like unauthorized access or data breaches.
- Test and Deploy Smart Devices:
- Conduct rigorous testing of devices to ensure reliability, stability, and performance under different conditions. You’ll lead device deployment, including continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes, ensuring that devices are robust and scalable in the real world.
