Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.

Oura is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior User Experience Design Researcher to join our dynamic team. In this role you will be instrumental in shaping the user experience of our cutting-edge products, ensuring they are intuitive, engaging, and beneficial for our users' health and well-being. As a Senior UX Researcher, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and engineers, and across multiple product squads, to deliver data-driven insights that guide the development of our wearable technology solutions.

This is a remote role but the candidate must be based in the United States.

What you will do:

  • Conduct Comprehensive User Research: Design and execute a variety of user research methodologies, including interviews, surveys, usability tests, and ethnographic studies, to gather in-depth insights into user needs and behaviors
  • Analyze and Interpret Data: Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to integrate user insights into all stages of the product development lifecycle, from ideation to post-launch
  • Create detailed research plans that align with business goals and project timelines
  • Prioritize research efforts to ensure the most critical questions are addressed
  • Advocate for the User. Champion a user-centered approach within the company, ensuring that the user's perspective is considered in every decision
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in UX research and the wellness wearable industry
  • Produce high-quality deliverables, such as personas, journey maps, user stories, and usability reports, to communicate research findings and recommendations effectively
  • Present your work to cross-functional team members at all levels, clearly capturing the needs and desires of users, and building excitement around ambitious ideas

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team, if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in UX research
  • A proven track record of working collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in a range of user research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative. Experience with tools such as UserTesting, Cambri, surveymonkey, ChatGPT, Amplitude, and various UX research software
  • Ability to work collaboratively in Figma with product designers
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate research topics
  • Ability to plan and implement user research strategies and methodologies
  • Ability to perform usability studies with consumers
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and persuasively
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and a passion for improving user experiences
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach to overcoming research challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Familiarity with the wellness and wearable technology industry is a plus
  • Experience working with products that touch both hardware and software is especially valued
  • Experience working with international groups and distributed teams would be a great preparation for this role
