The Role:

Our client, a cutting-edge, feel-good game studio, seeks a Sr. Unreal Engine Engineer to spearhead their AAA game production. The person in this role should be an Unreal expert and have confidently shipped at least 1 AAA game. We are seeking someone who possesses an inquisitive mind, a humble attitude, and ardent enthusiasm for continuous learning and growth. Love of gaming not required, but a bonus!

Requirements

• At least 7 years of game development experience
• Proven experience shipping at least 1 game built on the Unreal Engine platform.
• Extensive knowledge of Unreal Engine, including strengths, limitations, and how these factors influence architectural decisions in game development.
• Deep understanding of the complexities and challenges involved in building large-scale multiplayer games using Unreal Engine.
• Expertise in game system development, with the ability to create and integrate new systems within the Unreal Engine.
• Hands-on experience optimizing and scaling multiplayer game systems to ensure smooth performance and scalability.
• Familiarity with the challenges of game scaling across non-mobile and mobile platforms, and a curiosity or experience in developing Unreal games for mobile devices.
• Previous work on games that have shipped across multiple platforms, ensuring cross-platform compatibility and optimization.
• Experience working on games with hundreds or thousands of entities, demonstrating the ability to manage and optimize complex game environments.
