OVERVIEW
This is unique opportunity for the right candidate who is versatile and can prepare and review business and personal returns in tantum with the partner. The Tax Manager will be responsible for applying industry specific knowledge to advice clients on the tax implications of their business objections, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. In this role, Tax Manager will be in charge with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues, and recognizing, communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy and making decisions regarding filing, preparation and resolution of questions from federal / state agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consult with clients on a variety of tax, accounting, and business matters, including business entity selection, employee benefits, equity compensation, accounting for income taxes, real estate ownership and management
- Perform tax research and analysis for complex tax compliance matters and tax consulting opportunities
- Prepare and/or review individual and small business, corporate, and partnership income tax returns, including consolidated multi-state corporate and multitier partnership income tax returns
- Prepare and/or review corporate and individual estimated income tax calculations
- Making phone calls to IRS as needed
- Recommend and implement workflow processes and adapt to rapid change.
- Participate in and occasionally perform internal firm trainings on tax laws and their application
- Maintain general knowledge of new tax laws, rulings, and cases
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting required.
- REQUIRED: Five (5) or more years of prior California and Federal relevant tax experience
- REQUIRED: CPA certification, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”)
- Masters in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
