Full Job Description

Our client, a leading engineering and design firm, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in the Life Sciences industry to join their dynamic team. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of mechanical engineers, overseeing the design and delivery of mechanical systems for Life Sciences facilities.

You will work closely with clients, architects, and other project team members to develop innovative and sustainable solutions that meet project requirements and objectives. This includes designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as coordinating with other disciplines to ensure a coordinated and integrated design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on Life Sciences projects.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, including mentoring junior staff and coordinating workload.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of mechanical systems for Life Sciences facilities, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and other project team members to establish project goals and objectives.
  • Develop innovative and sustainable design solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Review and approve mechanical design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a coordinated and integrated design.
  • Participate in project meetings, both internally and with clients, to provide technical expertise and guidance.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, and standards related to mechanical design for Life Sciences facilities.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical design principles and systems for Life Sciences facilities.
  • Proficiency in industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
