Salary: $133,000- $166,300

The Role
Liberty Hill is seeking a Senior Director of Programs. This is a vital member of our foundation's leadership team. Our focus is on creating impact, influence, and infrastructure, and your leadership will play a key role in integrating these elements into our programs.
You will guide a talented team of Program Directors who share your dedication to our north star. Your objective is to elevate our programs, ensuring they align with our mission and effect tangible, measurable change.
You're not simply overseeing the work; you're infusing integrity, vision, and inclusive innovation into every facet of our program delivery. Reporting directly to the Chief Program Officer, you'll be the point person for ensuring smooth project implementation and execution, meeting deadlines, and adeptly addressing challenges.
We seek a leader who can mentor staff, foster connections, and propel our team forward while embracing the diverse voices that strengthen our mission. You serve as the guardian of our guiding principles, ensuring each program contributes to our overarching goals.

- Strategic Leadership:
- Proven ability to develop and lead program strategies aligned with Liberty Hill's mission in Los Angeles.
- Experience mentoring and guiding teams across diverse program areas, fostering excellence in initiatives like Grantmaking, Housing Advocacy, Environmental Stewardship, and Public Health.
- Strong track record of innovating systems and processes to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.
- Fundraising and Financial Management:
- Demonstrated success in setting and achieving fundraising targets, providing support and oversight to program directors.
- Proficiency in budget management, ensuring strategic allocation of resources for program success.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Effective collaboration with communication teams to craft and disseminate compelling narratives, showcasing program impact and challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate and sustain relationships with stakeholders, fostering partnerships to advance program goals in Los Angeles.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Ability to analyze data and address challenges to ensure program milestones are met and outcomes are effectively communicated.
- Leadership and Advocacy:
- Demonstrated leadership in representing Liberty Hill and advocating for programmatic initiatives, internally and externally.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivity, promoting growth and development within the team and across departments in Los Angeles.
Requirements
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience leading teams towards excellence and meaningful impact, preferably in social justice or related activism; experience in program management or a related field, particularly within the nonprofit sector preferred.
Skills and Qualities:
- Dedicated ally for social and racial justice, committed to fostering diversity, equity, and Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate staff, and promote inclusivity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and penchant for building relationships and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in strategic planning, program design, monitoring and evaluation, and/or capacity building is highly valued.
Technological Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Office365 and personnel management tools like Paylocity and Culture Amp is desired.
- Familiarity with project management platforms such as Teams, Slack, and Asana is preferred.
Landscape Familiarity:
- Knowledge of the Los Angeles organizing landscape and an understanding of the social, political, and economic factors impacting the communities served by Liberty Hill.

Liberty Hill operates in a hybrid remote environment with a dedicated coworking space in downtown Los Angeles. While in-person elements vary by function, key elements of this role revolve around face-to-face mentorship, in-person meetings and events, and other components that require physical presence and participation.

- Ability to engage in a hybrid remote work environment in our shared downtown co-working space or working remotely.
- Must live in Los Angeles County and be available for face-to-face collaboration when necessary.
