We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Biosystems Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Biosystems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions for the integration of biological systems with engineering principles. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects that span the intersection of biology, technology, and sustainability.

Responsibilities:

System Design and Integration:

  • Develop and implement biosystem designs by integrating biological components with engineering principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure algorithm development successfully integrates biological processes into technological systems.

Data Analysis and Modeling:

  • Utilize computational tools and modeling techniques to analyze and predict the behavior of biological systems.
  • Interpret experimental data and implement feedback loops for process optimization.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines in the development and implementation of biosystem projects.
  • Contribute to documentation and reporting for regulatory submissions.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation:
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in biosystems engineering and related fields.
  • Contribute to the innovation and improvement of processes within the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing biosystems projects.
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing biosystems projects.
  • Strong background in biophysical measurements, PPG, ECG and other biometrics.
  • Proficiency in computational tools, data analysis, and modeling..
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong understanding of signal processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.

The San Diego range for this position is from $138,107-$168,940
