Full Job Description

Valley Services is a family-owned residential and construction solutions provider, conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Jose. It consists of two divisions: the transfer station and rentals. As a P&D Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a company truck to drive to various locations to pick up and deliver toilets, sinks, holding tanks, and fence panels. You will also be responsible for uploading, unloading, and placement onsite of deliverables.  

 

Rate: $20.00 - $25.00

Qualifications:   

  • Must have a valid commercial C drivers license 
  • Minimum 1-2 year driving experience 
  • Must pass drug screening and physical  
  • Clean driving record  
  • Must demonstrate ability to maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances up to approximately 120 feet.
  • Strong work ethic   
  • No prior portable toilet service experience required 

Physical Requirements (but not limited to):

  • Walking, Bending, Climbing, Crouching, Driving, Sitting, Twisting Reaching, Pushing/pulling 
  • Gripping/ grasping controls 
  • Visually inspecting around and under the truck and its components 
  • Able to lift at least seventy-five (75) pounds as needed daily 
  • Stamina and flexibility to maintain a steady work pace 
  • Able to effectively communicate with dispatch/supervisors

Requirements

Responsibilities:   

  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order  
  • Safely load, unload, stock truck with supplies, and secure load for safe transport  
  • Safely operate her/his heavy truck along the designated route to customer site; read route sheet, follow the map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by dispatcher or supervisor   
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers on-site   
  • Load and unload toilets, sinks, holding tanks, and fence panels  
  • Maintain Clean truck, stock supplies on the truck and fill tanks and transfer waste at the end of each day  
  • Provide routing feedback to Operations Manager/Supervisor   
  • Understand and adhere to all required safety policies and procedures in compliance with Company safety standards and all State and Federal regulations at all times while operating your vehicle   
  • Promptly report any issues or incidents to the dispatcher   
  • Provide professional, prompt, friendly customer service    
  • Maintain and submit DOT logbooks and or daily route/productive sheet and vehicle condition report (post-trip inspection sheet)
