Full Job Description

This role is intended to advance the understanding and applications of sustainable concrete and emerging admixture technologies across all Master Builders Solutions market segments. The successful candidate will work hand in hand with field sales personnel primarily in the Western Division to drive market awareness, customer adoption and commercial success. This position will be responsible for representing Master Builders Solutions at applicable trade associations and conferences to stay ahead of the latest industry trends and present as a subject matter expert. This role will be responsible for developing, owning, and supporting key industry relationships up and down the value chain. As a result of achieving the above aspirations, the usage and position of concrete as the preferred building material will be advanced.  This will subsequently drive value for our customers, as well as Master Builders Solutions.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

 

·         Ph.D. / M.S. / B.S. in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines (Graduate degree preferred)

·         8-10 years professional experience in the field of construction, with extensive experience in concrete mix design and optimization

·         Broad knowledge of the concrete construction industry, as well as the value drivers within the construction industry preferred

·         Understanding of the concrete admixture business, including production methods, materials used and typical product categories

·         Proven track record in supporting and securing major concrete construction projects

·         Excellent presentation skills

 

 Principal Responsibilities

 

·         Present Master Builders Solutions (MBS) products and technologies to show the economic and sustainability values our products can bring to customers.

·         Support Master Builders Solutions field sales personnel with technical and tactical approaches to new product adoption and MBS sustainability strategies.

·         Present MBS technologies and products to engineers and architects that can help achieve the mechanical performance and carbon reduction (GWP) targets locally and nationally.

·         Work with project owners and developers to present MBS technologies and demonstrate how they can help to achieve the desired concrete performance and sustainability targets.

·         Connect with all relevant stakeholders in the MBS sales and specification community to understand approaches that are currently being employed

·         Ensure standards of safety, environmental, and health are maintained personally and with other stakeholders

·         Accountable for implementing Company-wide initiatives, policies and procedures, as necessary

Additional Skills

·         Able to run Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software to generate Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) internally and externally for customers

·         Be able to develop Product Category Rules (PCRs) for admixture products

·         Work with customers and concrete producers to present and teach concrete sustainability, EPDs, LCA, and PCRs

·         In depth understanding of traditional and developing cementing materials and supplementary

Other Expectations

·         Ability to travel up to 40% of the time will be required primarily within the Western Division but also to other parts of the US and Canada, as well as to the Beachwood, OH HQ as needed

·         Self-Motivation – candidate must be a self-starter and able to work remotely and independently as well as in a team environment

·         Flexible working hours – depending upon the demands necessary to make the timeline, work beyond traditional hours may be necessary

·         Reporting – regular verbal and written updates will be necessary to ensure value creation for key stakeholders. Participation on weekly planning and strategy meetings

·         Use of CRM and sales tools as required by the organization
