Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California’s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services, and health care sectors.

Department Summary
The Case Management Department at Brilliant Corners includes both Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Rehousing programs and is supported by Housing for Health (HFH) at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). The Permanent Supportive Housing program was designed to serve individuals experiencing homelessness who have a chronic illness or physical disability, and/or are high utilizers of DHS services. The goal is to transition individuals out of homelessness and into permanent housing, in order to obtain stability in all areas of their lives.
Position Summary
The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) will provide site-based support to enhance the residential experience for PSH clients residing at Brilliant Corner’s Las Palmas development, a 53-unit building in Wilmington, CA. The RSC will assist clients to achieve community integration, receive services, and maintain housing stability. The RSC plays a critical role in supporting clients to thrive in their new homes through a client- centered and “whatever it takes” approach to services. (This position is not eligible for a hybrid work schedule.)

Position Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach to clients via multiple methods, including one-on-one meetings and surveys, to determine community needs and interests.
- Assures that facilities are accessible and safe for residents.
- Develop and coordinate on and off-site community programs, groups, events, recreational activities for residents, and life skills programming (including budgeting, apartment upkeep, stress management, conflict resolution, etc.)
- Collaborate with Management and Property Management to provide service linkages and support to clients to assure individual needs are met.
- Serve as an advocate and liaison for clients with Property Management to mitigate issues that threaten housing stability.
- Support Case Managers in providing crisis intervention and mediation when needed.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, service providers, and public entities to ensure that clients have access to comprehensive services.
- Develop strategies to link residents with needed services, including assistance in overcoming various barriers that might impede access to services.
- Develop rapport and maintain regular contact with residents to identify new and ongoing needs for the community.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences alongside Case Managers and Property Manager to review clients’ progress and address any challenges.
- Maintain updated and accurate client files and documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings and other agency events as requested.
Professional Experience
- Resident Services Coordinator must have 2 years of experience working in supportive housing or a related field with preference given to candidates with experience working with homeless individuals or with lived expertise
- Experience conducting community assessments preferred
- Conflict management/resolution skills
- Planning/Organizing/Facilitating community groups, events or programs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and client engagement skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with people with mental health, disability, substance abuse, legal and financial issues.
- Flexibility regarding scheduling and prioritizing of tasks
- Possession of a valid, clean California driver’s license and a personal insured vehicle are required
- Able to transport clients in your vehicle
- Basic computer knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Familiarity with evidence-based interventions including Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed Care
- Ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking skills in decision-making situations
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements
Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.
The salary range for this position is $25.48 - $26.50. This position is being offered at $25.48 per hour.
