Full Job Description
As a Research Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in accelerating the development of Anthro’s revolutionary battery technology. You will prepare novel electrolytes and test them in battery cells across a wide range of applications. You will work on projects across different industries, applications, and cell chemistries. You will help Anthro deliver on our internal technical milestones and external customer projects.
What you will do
- Prepare novel electrolytes and characterize their physical/chemical properties
- Test lithium ion battery cells in a variety of shapes, sizes, and chemistries using standard test protocols
- Document activities, productivity, and experimental data using digital tools
- Communicate experimental results and escalate issues to the rest of the Anthro team
- Troubleshoot equipment and perform routine maintenance
- Identify, propose and implement measures to continuously improve work efficiency
- Read and follow SOPs and equipment manuals
- Follow protocols to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workplace
- Perform routine safety, abuse, and failure analysis testing
- Quickly identify and escalate safety issues
- Work in-person, on-site at Anthro’s lab in San Jose
Requirements
- Technical professional or new-grad with hands-on experience in biological or chemical laboratory work environments
- Capable of repeated tasks with high efficiency and accuracy
- Detail oriented, organized, and strong ownership mindset to your work
- Fast learner and eager to learn new skills
- Prior experience in battery R&D is highly preferred
- Visa sponsorship is not available
