We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate with experience in cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, or a related field to join our Discovery Research team in Agoura Hills, CA. The successful candidate will be integrated into a dynamic, fast-paced, and engaging team positioned at the earliest stages of therapeutic drug discovery.

In this role, you will design, characterize, and develop novel cell therapies integrating A2’s innovative Tmod™ logic-gated platform. You will be part of a highly collaborative cross-functional team of scientists, interrogating novel synthetic proteins designed to provide new functionality to CAR-T cells.  Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Work with our scientists to design, execute, and interpret cell-based assays investigating the mechanisms behind CAR T cell therapies
  • Perform essential laboratory techniques including mammalian tissue culture, flow cytometry, and in vitro binding/functional assays
  • Work independently and collaboratively to identify and solve critical issues and drive research programs forward based on project timelines and goals
  • Stay abreast of relevant scientific literature and emerging technologies
  • Communicate findings through presentations in internal and external meetings and submissions of manuscripts for publication

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, cell biology or a related field & 2+ years scientific experience
  • OR Master’s degree in related fields and 1+ year of scientific experience

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hands-on laboratory experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, and cell-based assays
  • General understanding of principles in immunology
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and interpreting scientific data
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and collaborative environment
  • Scientific curiosity and a desire to learn
