Cedars of Marin provides person-centered day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities that inspire them to live creative, productive, healthy and joyous lives. Cedars has been supporting adults with developmental disabilities for more than 100 years.
Cedars residential homes are located in beautiful, safe neighborhoods in Novato, California. Personalized private bedrooms help give each resident the ability to have their own space while enjoying the warmth of the group home family. Group home managers work hard to provide an exciting life filled with fun and adventure for the residents while supporting their growth and independence.
As a Cedars Relief Manger, you will provide 2 days of leadership in place of the Group Home Manager when he/she is not working. Depending on which Cedars residential home you are hired for, available shifts are either Sundays and Mondays, including overnights; OR Fridays and Saturdays, including overnights. Let us know which shift you prefer!
Rate of pay is $19.25/hour.
As a Relief Manager you will:
- Help with goals that will increase a resident’s independent living skills.
- Supervise activities as well as other staff members using a positive, supportive approach.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy home environment.
- Assist residents with cooking and housekeeping.
- Assist with personal hygiene needs, including showering.
Requirements
- A genuine love of people and a desire to help them achieve their potential.
- Common sense and good judgment.
- Caregiving experience - management experience preferred. Experience with adults with developmental disabilities is helpful.
- Ability to use email and computer.
- Must communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- A clean California driver's license, a willingness to drive a passenger van, and a minimum of three years of driving.
- The ability to pass a criminal background check, an occupational health physical and a TB Test.
- Must pass both DSP I & II (or already be certified) within 12 - 24 months of hire. (Cedars will help set-up classes for certifications).
- CPR and First Aid certifications (or the willingness to acquire both).
- Patience, a positive attitude and good sense of humor are very helpful!
