Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, located in Bakersfield, California, is an acute psychiatric and behavioral 90 bed facility situated on 8.8 acres.
We offer inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults needing mental/behavioral health, chemical dependency; and co-occurring disorders treatment through our medically supervised detoxification.

Summary:
Provides complex screening, assessment, crisis intervention, intake and treatment planning, individual and group substance use disorder counseling, and support services to clients. Assists with overseeing screening and assessing of the substance use disorder, psychosocial and environmental status of clients, coordinating and monitoring referral of clients to clinical and other resources and services. Serves as team lead in developing counseling programs and interventions as well as related training for staff.
Wage Range: $23.00 to $33.00 per hour

Though we do need to meet some minimum requirements for the position such as a High School Diploma and an appropriate degree or certification as defined below, we're really looking for people who bring their HEART to work.
If you have previous experience in a mental healthcare hospital environment where your attention was focused on human behavior, psychiatry, psychology, or other mental healthcare situations, your application to this position will be moved to the shortlist of candidates.
Requirements
Minimum Education
Minimum of High School Diploma with certification as a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician. Preferred Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Dependency or closely related field of study.
Experience
Two years of experience as a Chemical Dependency Counselor or closely related position.
License
Preferred progress toward and then completion of Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC). Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) preferred. CPR and Handle-With-Care Certifications required prior to completing orientation.
