Full Job Description

We are seeking committed and passionate Recreation Specialists to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our After School Programs. As a Recreation Specialist you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an afterschool setting. Job Title: Expanded Learning Recreation Specialist

Minimum Qualifications:

  • No experience required
  • Ability to reliably commute to Concord, Bay Point and/or Martinez
  • Commitment to social justice and leadership
  • Passionate about learning and youth development
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred: Commitment to a full school year, able to practice open, clear and consistent communication, commitment to participate in professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain emotional and safe environment
  • Executing lesson plans that support school day learning
  • Ability to collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth driven curriculum)
  • Ability to model BACR Best Practices
