JOB SUMMARY

The Receivables Manager embraces SoLa’s mission and is passionate about communicating and promoting SoLa’s short and long-term goals. Responsible for managing, collecting and tracking receivables, the Receivables Manager interfaces heavily with Property Managers, Regional Property Managers, 3rd party partners and agencies to ensure overall receivables performance, as well as analyzes KPIs, risk, and outcomes. The Receivables Manager will also work with internal accounting teams to ensure accuracy of books, and work heavily with the Director of Special Operations to strategize future objectives and agendas.

Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Meet defined department and individual goals, as well as activity metrics;
  • Review and assist with receivables activity, including depositing checks, soliciting payment from 3rd party agencies and partners, and interfacing with associated colleagues
  • Generate and create reporting and analysis of outstanding receivables, and monitor cash performance on a property, regional and fund level
  • Process payments (e.g. ACH, Checks, and Money Orders); Process Housing payments (e.g. HACLA, LACDA, and Brilliant Corners);
  • Monitor KPIs for trends and patterns – use reporting to drive strategy, mitigate risk and capitalize on opportunities
  • Audit outstanding receivables by source and type, strive to reduce outstanding totals on a monthly and year on year basis
  • Comply with Federal and State regulations within area of responsibility;
  • Understand and follow organization policies and procedures;
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 4 years of multi-family property management experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience directly handling receivables and collecting rent and outstanding balances
  • Preference for candidates who have handled rent rolls in excess of $1MM per month

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; 
  • Must be detail-oriented; with strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment;
  • Ability to provide a superior level of service, be a positive role model for staff, and demonstrate a high level of commitment to the organization;
  • Broad knowledge of collections techniques and negotiation methods;
  • Ability to present information in a concise and easily understood manner;
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment;
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Working knowledge of computers and their applications;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Yardi and other job specific software preferred;
