Job Title: R&D Technician, Cell Assembly & Test

Job Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Location: Fremont, CA (On-site)

Reports to: Director of Product Test Engineering

Company Description

Amprius develops, designs, and manufactures very high-performance lithium-ion cells for advanced applications. Amprius invented and perfected a 100% silicon anode which enables the highest energy density cell commercially available in the industry.

Summary

A R&D Technician, Cell Assembly & Test will join our Product Team of technicians, engineers, and scientists to conduct all R&D experiments including electrode evaluation, cell assembly and cell test. The candidate must be reliable and able to communicate with engineers to conduct the projects as requested.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble components into a physically complete cell
  • Use small equipment and hand tools to produce components and battery cells.
  • Operate large equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Measure materials with a micrometer, mass scale, digital multi-meter, and caliper
  • Visually evaluate defects from a list of standard defects
  • Input data into quality management software

Requirements

  • Experience with electrode (cathode) coating facility.
  • Ability to perform work in cleanroom, dry room, or fume hood that requires the use of fine motor skills for extended periods of time, standing, reaching, and twisting motions with hands.
  • Strong work ethic, high accountability, and good communication skills
  • Committed to environmental health and safety.
  • Clear written and verbal skills to communicate your observations and ideas and collaborate with colleagues to tackle technical challenges.
  • Self-motivated to work in a fast paced, technically stimulating environment and quickly adapt to changes and achieve results.

Required Education and Experience

  • At least one year of experience as an equipment operator or technician in one of the following industries: Semiconductor, solar, battery, electronics, or automotive.
  • U.S. work authorization is required.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
  • Sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds.
  • May be required to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

  • Salary: $28.00 - $35.00
