Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) Assistant

BKF is searching for Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) interns in multiple offices! 

BKF is searching for part-time Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) interns with strong technical abilities, who are excited to collect field data, expresses an interest in civil engineering, environmental sciences or construction management, and are passionate about supporting and working with a team of engineers on small and large projects. Training will take place in our San Jose office, and then on-site visits will take place throughout the bay.

Responsibilities:

• Complete stormwater compliance training at BKF
• Safely conduct weekly and storm-related inspections of regional construction sites.
• Prepare inspection reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Document weather and rain data
• Collect water samples from construction sites and perform pH and turbidity tests.
• Take compliance photos and report any issues with project water runoff.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid California driver’s license and be able to drive to client sites and transport sampling equipment.
• Must be detail oriented to properly document field sampling activities, package samples for shipment, and complete chain of custody documents.
• Desire to work outside in the elements, primarily during the rainy season.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
