About the Role

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring a Program Manager, Recruitment - San Francisco State University (SF State) who will be responsible for supporting the recruitment efforts of Fellows (students) into the Braven Leadership and Career Accelerator (Accelerator) course at SF State. Beginning in Fall 2024, you will recruit 300 Fellows and the number of Fellows will grow to be 500 students per semester by Fall 2026. 

To achieve these results, you will recruit and manage Braven Student Ambassadors (BSAs). You will work closely with Braven’s central recruitment team, the Bay Area regional team, K-12 pipeline partners, and the SF State administration to help you reach your goal. In all of this, you will contribute to building and maintaining a positive presence of Braven at SF State.

This role is on the Bay Regional Team team and reports directly to the Managing Director, SF State.

What You’ll Do

Student Recruitment and Enrollment (45%)

  • Work in collaboration with SF State’s Division of Graduate Studies and Career Development (GSCD), Braven’s Managing Director - SF State, and Braven Central’s recruitment team to plan and to effectively enroll 300 students per semester into the Accelerator
  • Use Salesforce and team systems to manage recruitment operations, data, and pipelines 
  • Analyze recruitment data weekly to inform recruiting strategy
  • Organize and lead recruitment efforts in partnership with SF State and Central team (e.g. classroom presentations, tabling events, preparing materials, etc.)
  • Host recruitment events with K-12 pipeline partners in order to source prospective students
  • Recruit, train, and manage Post-Accelerator Fellows to serve as Braven Student Ambassadors

Social Media and Marketing (20%)

  • Share design input and feedback with Braven’s External Affairs team on marketing materials
  • Collect and share compelling stories for future marketing campaigns
  • Actively engage as a member on the Social Media and Marketing Committee
  • Develop a social media recruitment strategy with the Managing Director - SF State

Stakeholder Management (35%)

  • Collaborate with Managing Director, Executive Director, and Central team to track stakeholder cultivation engagements
  • Support the cultivation and management of key stakeholders like Professors, SF State students, prospective families, and K-12 organizations
  • Join the Executive Director and Managing Director, SF State for bi-weekly University Partnership meetings with Associate Deans in order to align recruitment tactics to overall regional scale strategy

Team Leadership (5%)

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage part-time student interns and Braven Brand Ambassadors
  • Participate in regional and national team events
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Work Experience: At least 1 year of experience in recruitment and/or marketing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the non-profit field
  • Technical Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, Asana
  • Ability to quickly build positive working relationships and identify strategically important relationships 
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and public speaking skills
  • Experience coaching and mentoring students in career development
  • Experience managing and developing people, particularly managing through others
  • Proven ability to create, operationalize, and manage project plans, meeting milestones and deadlines
  • Track record of using data and metrics to drive decisions and measure performance
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability, excels in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is comfortable with ambiguity
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Exemplification of Braven’s core values
  • Experience that has informed your belief in Braven’s mission and have prepared you to work with, or for, Braven’s student Fellow population

Work Demands

  • Ability to work in-person in San Francisco, CA
  • Must be able to work on SF State’s campus a minimum of 3 days per week during heavy recruitment season
  • Travel to 2-3 events per semester in the Bay Area, CA
  • Work 2-3 weekend events per semester
  • Physical requirements include lifting and carrying up 20-50 pounds for various recruitment events (tabling, presentations, etc.)

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of such by the date of hire. Individuals may claim exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be between $64,480 - $74,500. Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. You will have an opportunity to discuss salary in more detail after you begin the application process.

Braven also provides competitive, comprehensive benefits, recognition, and career development. While Braven reserves the right to change benefits at any time, current benefits include: 

  • Unlimited vacation time in addition to org-wide holidays and three team-wide, week-long shutdowns in Spring, Summer, and Winter (this is a minimum of 24 days per year)
  • Match of your 401K contribution up to 5% of your base annual salary, starting your first full month
  • Coverage of 85% of health insurance premium for employee and dependents
  • A one-month paid sabbatical after 4 years on staff

Location

We gather on site at least 3 days per week (on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and often work remotely 2 days per week. Therefore, this role requires teammates to live within commuting distance of San Francisco, CA.
