Fuse is looking for a Program Manager to lead innovative system, product, and capabilities development in our advanced projects Business Area. This role will oversee internal Research and Development to advance our offerings and technology and stay at the forefront of developing technologies. This role will oversee and manage all aspects of project execution and provide strategic guidance through all phases of development while ensuring that warfighter needs and requirements are integrated into our solutions. Our work focuses on DoD network and tactical communications providing a variety of communications abilities to USN and USMC platforms including tactical data links, line-of-sight and beyond line-of-sight radios, and crossbanding of IP data. This engineering-minded Program Manager must be passionate about enhancing operator capabilities with user-focused communication, network, and software systems.
Warfighter-focused design and development is at the heart of Fuse processes. Throughout Fuse development our experienced team applies the best practices of commercial design-think, coupled to the DoD systems engineering framework. The coupling of commercially proven design with rigorous systems engineering gives Fuse an ability to rapidly design, develop and field solutions well inside of typical military design cycles. With an Agile approach to development (for both software and hardware) Fuse rapidly innovates, putting creative concepts into action, and refining those concepts through hands on test, user evaluation, and iteration.
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with Engineering and Technology department to develop innovative systems that align with our company mission, strategic objectives, and future growth
- Understand project and program needs in order to develop systems that align with future trends in our current Business Areas
- Coordinate participation of emerging technologies and systems in fleet demonstrations and experiments
- Deliver innovative software, network, and hardware solutions to the that enhance network and IP-based communications
- Advance low TRL systems to highly developed products ready for fleet deployment
- Ensure cost, schedule, and technical requirements are met for all projects within the portfolio
- Work alongside engineering teams to optimize exchange of key metrics and resolve road blocks
- Incorporate real-world operators into our development process in order to understand needs and requirements from an end-user point of view
- Ensure system development environment and system attributes align with DoD security requirements
- Participate in demonstration planning with customers, engineering teams, and overarching experiment managers
Requirements
We are looking for:
Ideal candidates will have experience in technical leadership and early product development including requirements development, system design, system integration and test for complex technical systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field of study or Bachelor’s degree with related experience in an engineering field
- Experience participating in large force fleet exercises and demonstrations
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience in designing, development and implementing technical systems
- Experience managing various projects and leading teams in the engineering development, testing and deployment of complex systems
- Experience with DoD R&D process and life cycle management
- Working knowledge and experience with military networking systems
- Understanding of system test process including experience producing test plans and procedures
- Familiarity with Agile development and professional SW development environments
- U.S. citizen
- Current US SECRET Clearance
Must be a nimble self-starter who is excited about technology and has the ability to think out of the box and suggest powerful new ideas
Nice to have:
- Experience with platform areas
- Ship based Networks and TDLs, pLEO network comms
- USN/USAF/USMC TACAIR platforms and employment
- Rotary Wing systems and employment
- Management Degree, MBA, or similar certification (such as PMP)
- Experience leading development of software-based systems
- Understanding of networking and network troubleshooting
- Experience participating in large force fleet or experimentation exercises
- Experience with military airworthiness certification
