Full Job Description
Are you looking for meaningful and impactful work? Cedars of Marin's Community Connections program helps Cedars adults engage in the community through our many volunteer locations throughout Marin, including the Marine Mammal Center, Marin Health Medical Center, the Marin Headlands, and others.
As a Community Connections Program Instructor you will take a small group of wonderful adults who have developmental disabilities into the community to volunteer. You will display patience, compassion, curiosity and a strong desire to help others meet their full potential.
Located in the heart of Marin County, Cedars has been supporting adults with developmental disabilities for more than 100 years. Our person-centered programs nurture creative, productive, joyful, and healthy lives.
The hours for this position are M-F, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM. The rate for pay is $21/hour.
Requirements
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Experience in leading, advising, organizing, and motivating groups of people.
- The ability to teach and provide skills.
- The ability to manage a crew of clients and work with a team of leaders.
- A clean California DMV driver's license and a minimum of three years of driving.
- The ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ.
- CPR and First Aid certifications (or the willingness to acquire both).
- An upbeat, positive attitude and good sense of humor are helpful!
