Product UX Designer (Contract)

Geomagical Labs has an opening for a passionate Product Designer with 1-3 years of experience to join the team working on IKEA Kreativ in a contract role with the potential for full-time hire. This role will allow you to showcase your skills and contribute to impactful projects. The opportunity for full-time employment will be evaluated based on performance and business needs.

IKEA Kreativ is a consumer AI & and mixed reality experience that allows millions of customers around the globe to imagine their future homes. It is available today in the IKEA App (iOS + Android) and on IKEA.com. With IKEA Kreativ, customers can scan and virtually design a digital twin of their space or virtual showrooms. 

In this role, you’ll tackle exciting UX challenges related to 3D capture and design, AI guidance, social and collaborative experiences, onboarding, and marketing content across various device types. Your role will simplify complex design problems and shape a product that enhances our customers’ success. You’ll need to balance seeing the big picture strategy with attention to detail to deliver high-quality, usable features.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience as a product designer
• Experience with consumer-facing products
• A design portfolio showcasing impressive UX/UI work, preferably in consumer mobile & web
• Ability to translate complex design problems into purposeful solutions
• Experience delivering production-ready design specifications for engineering
• Ability to convey strategic UX design thinking and attention to detail for delivering tactical pieces
• Experience working with UI and product design systems
• Experience with user flows and journey mapping, including creating detailed journeys that align with real customer needs and business goals
• Experience translating research insights and metrics into actionable design decisions
• Work that demonstrates human-centered design practices and an extensive understanding of visual design principles, with real-world examples
• Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping
• Excellent presentation and storytelling skills as they relate to UX
• Friendly, supportive, and collaborative team player
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Industrial Design, User Experience, or a related field

• Experience with 3D design, mixed or augmented reality
• Experience with motion design, video production, 3D, VR, or AR apps
• E-commerce experience

• The USA salary for this position ranges from $60 to $80 an hour. Salary is determined by location, role, skill, and experience level.
