Full Job Description

Our partner is seeking a Product Owner II (Remote) to join their Product Ownership department. This position, based in San Diego, CA, offers the flexibility of remote work. The role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders to create, groom, and prioritize the team backlog.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with departments and product teams to assess, initiate, refine, and drive functional solutions.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into user stories for the scrum team.
  • Participate in all scrum ceremonies and ensure the team has a sufficient backlog of groomed user stories.
  • Manage backlog, iteration planning, and elaboration of user stories.
  • Write clear and concise acceptance criteria for user stories.
  • Plan and prioritize product backlog and development activities.
  • Identify and manage cross-team priorities.
  • Contribute to final approval and acceptance testing.
  • Communicate product strategy to stakeholders and team members.
  • Mitigate non-technical impediments to achieve Release/Sprint Goals.
  • Coordinate delivery plans, testing, training, and support across teams and departments.
  • Work closely with engineering, user experience, customer experience strategy, and design teams to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into the product roadmap while balancing conflicting priorities.
  • Present to internal stakeholders as the product expert.
  • Participate in inception workshops in cross-functional group settings.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues, coordinating resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience (high school diploma required if substituting experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.
  • Strong knowledge of agile processes and principles.
  • Experience in creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories.
  • Proficient in writing clear and concise acceptance criteria.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with experience in leading scrum teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
