We Are Seeking: A dynamic Principal Aerospace Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in our mission to develop state-of-the-art spacecraft. Your Role Will Involve:

  • Orchestrating the development of spacecraft systems, emphasizing innovative solutions for propulsion, structure, and environmental control to support extended space missions.
  • Leading collaborative efforts with interdisciplinary teams to merge cutting-edge technologies into cohesive and functional spacecraft designs, meeting both mission requirements and visionary goals.
  • Guiding the spacecraft design lifecycle, including conceptualization, system integration, prototype development, and rigorous testing phases, adhering to the highest standards of space engineering.
  • Performing intricate analyses across a spectrum of engineering domains, including mechanical, thermal, and fluid dynamics, to validate and optimize spacecraft designs.
  • Initiating and overseeing advanced research projects to explore novel materials and technologies that enhance the performance and sustainability of space systems.
  • Designing and executing comprehensive testing programs for spacecraft components, employing simulations and real-world tests to ensure mission-critical reliability and safety.
  • Working closely with project leaders to ensure engineering solutions are in sync with strategic objectives and mission milestones.
  • Developing and nurturing a team of skilled aerospace engineers, promoting a culture of technical innovation, operational excellence, and continuous learning.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Possesses a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with over three years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering.
  • Exhibits a strong command of engineering fundamentals and analytical thinking, with a history of solving intricate problems in aerospace design and development.
  • Communicates with clarity and precision, adept at sharing complex ideas and collaborating with teams across various technical disciplines.
  • Organized and meticulous in managing detailed engineering documentation and project workflows, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Thrives in a team-oriented environment, actively contributing to multifaceted projects and fostering innovation within a dynamic and fast-evolving company.
  • Demonstrates initiative and thoroughness in executing tasks, capable of balancing multiple priorities in an energetic and fast-paced setting.

Skills We Value:

  • Advanced skills in CAD and 3D modeling, particularly with SolidWorks or NX, applied to aerospace systems design and optimization.
  • Proficient in conducting detailed structural and systems analysis, including both manual calculations and FEA, to assure design robustness and performance.
  • Experienced in developing and leading hardware testing protocols, from conception through to implementation and analysis.
  • Practical knowledge in the design and manufacturing of aerospace structures, with a creative and solution-focused approach to engineering challenges.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, required for access to controlled information and participation in certain project areas.

Highly Appreciated Skill:

  • Advanced degrees in Aerospace Engineering or a related technical discipline, providing depth and breadth of knowledge in aerospace systems.
  • Familiarity with integrated project management and manufacturing systems, such as PLM and ERP, to streamline production and workflow processes.
  • Coding and scripting proficiency, enhancing automation, and analytical capabilities in engineering tasks and data analysis.
  • Experience with innovative materials and fabrication methods, contributing to the development of lightweight and robust spacecraft components.
