Full Job Description
We are seeking a school-based therapist to provide trauma-informed mental health prevention and intervention services in a culturally diverse Berkeley elementary school two days per week (16 hr/wk). We are looking for a dynamic skilled clinician who can bring engaged psychological, emotional, and behavioral support to students, their families and integrate into the school culture.

- Pay rate: $32 - $36/hour, depending on licensure

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Clinical Social Work or Psychology required.
- Experience working in schools with in a multicultural, diverse, urban community.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices required.
- Experience and commitment to collaborating with parents, teachers and school staff.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A commitment to and strong belief in the mission of the agency.
- Ability to maintain goals and priorities in dealing with varying challenges.
- Ability to be flexible in working with people and organizations with different viewpoints.
- Enjoys participating and positively impacting school culture, being a proactive, engaged mental health leader, mediating and advocating on behalf of children and families, enjoys and thrives collaborating in a complex culturally rich community system.
Preferred:
- Licensed or close to licensure preferred.
- Experience with Medi-Cal paperwork a plus.
- Spanish speaking capacity
- Open to self-reflection, introspection and exploring areas of self as they pertain to the clinical work.
Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based individual, group and family mental health services, including therapy, family consultation, case management, and prevention education two days a week
- 16 hrs/wk at an elementary school in Berkeley.
- Provide relevant school-focused behavioral health services including, but not limited to:
- Classroom prevention education (e.g. communication skills, anti-bullying, mindfulness practices.)
- Participate on school’s intervention teams (e.g. CARE/COST teams.)
- Provide crisis intervention and trauma response as needed.
- Provide family education opportunities as needed.
- Consult with school administration, faculty and staff on specific youth and families and on school mental health issues in general. Participate in SST, IEP meetings.
- Work with school staff, administrators, Community School Managers, and parents to coordinate services.
- Provide services to clients in an ethical, legal and professional manner, including HIPAA, CAMFT and NASW standards.
- Humility in cultural issues related to race, ethnicity, nationality, class, religion, and sexual orientation required.

Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
