Oracle Database Administrator

Apex Informatics is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience in managing Oracle database environments. The DBA will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of Oracle databases. As a key team member in our IT operations, you will ensure the availability, security, and integrity of our databases while supporting our business applications and data needs.

In this role, you will work closely with application developers to implement database changes, perform upgrades, and troubleshoot database issues. Your expertise in Oracle's suite of database products will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our data management operations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database systems
• Monitor and optimize database performance and availability
• Implement database backup and recovery strategies
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution
• Work with application developers to create and modify database objects
• Perform database upgrades and patching as necessary
• Maintain database security and compliance with data protection standards
• Document database configurations, processes, and changes

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and internals
• Experience with Oracle 12c, 19c or higher environments
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming
• Experience in performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of Oracle databases
• Strong skills in backup and recovery strategies using RMAN or similar tools
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues effectively
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Oracle Data Guard
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
