Operations Lead
ODF
San Francisco, california
Job Details
Full-time
Full Job Description
Our mission is to help more people build the best startups. We create products and communities that support that mission.
- ODF — explore starting a startup (check out our Top Companies of 2024)
- Merge Club — the place for microgrants
- Landing Club — onboarding the best immigrant builders to SF
We’re hiring someone to run our ODF program operations. This role touches every element of the program from admissions to our IRL “onboarding weeks” in SF where we bring together a cohort of 80-100 prospective founders.
This role is intensively in-person. We work out of the company office/house in Mission/Noe Valley — often at odd hours and sometimes on the weekend. We pay an additional monthly stipend for teammates who live <15 minute walk from the office.
You will:
- Lead admissions operations for our flagship program that has helped over 1,000 startups launch and raise $2B+ in the last 6 years. This includes evaluating applications, interviewing candidates, and moving them through the pipeline. You’ll be involved with every part of the admissions funnel, ultimately helping us decide who the next generation of ODF founders should be. This is critically important as the quality of the community determines its future.
- Lead logistics and operations for the ODF in-person “Onboarding Weeks” in SF, including executing the onboarding process, creating the run of show for the week, coordinating calendars, coordinating vendors and partners, and running communications.
- Ideate, plan, and host in-person community events in SF.
- Design and launch new experimental offerings based on member feedback and your ideas.
- Work closely with our CEO, Head of Ops, and Program Director to support them on special projects and initiatives. Depending on your interests, these could range from content to design and even engineering (no engineering experience is required for this role, though).
Requirements
This role is a good fit if you:
- Are early in your career (0-5 years) and excited to be working intensely in person in SF.
- Want to grow quickly and take on real responsibility from day one—you'll start by supporting the program with the potential to lead it in the future.
- Have a track record of making things happen fast.
- Experience running events in the past at work, university, etc. You are the organized friend who loves planning gatherings and obsesses over the details.
- No task is too small—you'll help clean up after events, make supply runs, and do whatever it takes to make things happen (just like the rest of the team including the CEO).
- Experience with or proven ability to rapidly learn no-code tools (Zapier, Airtable, etc.)
- Get energy from working and building relationships IRL.
Benefits
This role is intensively in-person. We work out of the company office/house in Mission/Noe Valley — often at odd hours and sometimes on the weekend. We pay an additional monthly stipend for teammates who live <15 minute walk from the office.
All roles at our company are contract-to-hire for 90 days. After that, if all parties are in agreement, the position becomes full-time (full-time compensation is agreed upon before the start of the contract-to-hire period).
We’re open to sponsoring visas for the right person.
To apply, email your resume and past projects to noemie@joinodf.com, along with why you think you’d be a good fit for the job.
If there is some role where you believe you could make a significant contribution to our company other than the one listed for ODF Operations, feel free to reach out via email as well. We occasionally hire people without an official job posting.
