North America, West Coverage - Principal (Southern California)

Hayfin is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Partner Solutions Team as a dedicated Americas - West Coverage professional, based in Southern California. Hayfin’s global Partner Solutions Group is comprised of dedicated Coverage professionals across the Americas, Europe and APAC, with further support from a deep bench of additional Investor Relations colleagues (30+ in total). In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with institutional fundraising activities and expanding our market presence within the America, West region. You will work closely with other senior members of the Americas Coverage team in pursuit of new business opportunities, build relationships with potential clients, and promote our investment strategies.

Our Americas Institutional Fundraising efforts are assisted by a cross-section of our Investor Relations professionals. You will work closely with other senior members of the Americas Coverage team in pursuit of new business opportunities, build relationships with potential clients, and promote our investment strategies.

A successful candidate will conduct themselves with a high degree of professionalism and will have demonstrated an ability to build relationships and secure commitments.  Strong interpersonal and communications skills, extensive knowledge of alternative investment strategies, attention to detail, and a rigorous work ethic are prerequisites. Prior work experience fundraising for credit investment strategies is critical.

 Responsibilities:

• Engage with existing industry networks, identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting new clients, maintaining and expanding core relationships with existing investors
• Help establish and execute on an annual fundraising plan for the region aligned with specific goals based on the firm’s priorities
• Generate target lists and proactively manage dialogue with qualified prospective investors in coordination with broader Americas Coverage team while effectively tracking progress and reporting to senior management
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration to ensure that solutions are designed to continuously improve and meet the changing needs of the industry
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, client needs, and competitor activity to stay ahead of the market and position the company as a thought leader
• Work closely with the investment team to develop and present customized investment solutions to clients
• Attend industry conferences and events to promote Hayfin's brand and expand network

Requirements

• At least 5-7 years’ alternatives fundraising experience, including explicit experience with US institutional investor landscape
• Proven track record of driving fundraising, revenue growth and meeting targets
• Strong knowledge of alternatives, with a specific focus on public and private credit investment strategies
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively articulate complex investment concepts
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
• Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
