East County Large and Small Animal Practice (ECLAP) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join our diverse and dynamic team. Located just 25 minutes from downtown San Diego, our practice blends a timeless country veterinary experience with close proximity to the amenities of a bustling metropolis. About ECLAP
ECLAP offers a true mixed animal practice environment, serving a wide range of species, including:
- Horses: From competitive sport horses to backyard companions.
- Small Animals: Dogs and cats with comprehensive medical and surgical care.
- Livestock: Cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, and camelids (including alpacas, llamas, and even camels).
Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art tools and technology, including:
- In-house and mobile digital radiography equipment.
- Portable ultrasound machines for small and large animals.
- Small animal anesthesia machines and a fully equipped surgery suite.
- Equine and ruminant haul-in facilities for comprehensive care.
- Ambulatory care: Each doctor is provided with a truck and fully stocked vet box for mobile visits.

Responsibilities
As a Mixed Animal Veterinarian, your role will include:
- Providing high-quality medical and surgical care to a wide range of species.
- Conducting diagnostics and treatments using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Collaborating with a supportive team of veterinarians and support staff.
- Participating in ambulatory care and on-call rotations.
- Educating clients on preventive care, wellness, and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- DVM Degree: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited university.
- Licensure: Active and in good standing to practice in California.
- Experience: All levels of experience will be considered, with preference for candidates with internships or mixed-animal experience.
- A passion for working with diverse species and confidence in independent decision-making.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
