Full Job Description
Missions Travel Specialist: The purpose of this role is to practically facilitate the launch of “Flaming Arrows” all over the world on missions. You will be assisting Bethel Missions with key travel planning details for BSSM Spring Missions.
This role oversees the organization and execution of securing flights for our Spring Missions trips and contracting and scheduling buses to transport these teams to and from the airports.
Salary Range: $21,216.00 - $22,464 per annum
Weekly Hours: 24
Requirements
1. Coordinate Flights for Spring Missions Trips (Seasonally: October-March)
- By working closely with the Missions Finance Coordinator and Spring Missions Trip Leaders and all Mobilization staff at Bethel Missions.
- By working directly with a Travel Agent for booking group flights and working independently to book flights for smaller teams.
- By negotiating with Travel Agent/s for best contract options.
- By working closely with the Dept. Finance Coordinator to keep airfare on budget and collaborate together if unable to meet budget needs.
- By overseeing flight details (itineraries, budgets, expense reports, payments, etc.) for 40+ teams.
- By keeping track of student/leader counts for accuracy through the flight contract process.
- By keeping teams & department on schedule to meet each contract’s demands.
- By keeping accurate records of finances, team numbers, etc.
- By presenting in Trip Leader meetings.
- ** Please note: this role may require some work around Thanksgiving and Christmas due to the timeline of contract deadlines.
- ** The work required in this role peaks from November-March.
- ** Finally, you will need to be available to be on call throughout Spring Missions weeks (usually late March), helping with the execution of successfully sending and receiving teams on their flights for their trips.
2. Coordinates all Spring Mission bus trips (Seasonally)
- By keeping accurate records of flight itineraries for bus scheduling purposes.
- By keeping accurate records of passenger count.
- By working closely with Dept. Finance Coordinator and Trip Leader Coordinator.
- By researching the best option and contracting buses.
- By creating bus schedules to decrease the number of buses needed (combine teams according to team size, flight itinerary, etc.)
- By keeping the team needs up to date to ensure bus capacity and schedule meets the needs of the team and budget.

- ** Please note: you will need to be available to be on call throughout Spring Missions weeks, helping with the execution of successfully sending and receiving teams on their buses for their trips.
