Medical Technologist

Aspire Medical Staffing is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Technologist to work in the Histology Department at Fresno VA Medical Center. As a Medical Technologist/Histology Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of histology techniques and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of diseases.

You will be working in a fast-paced laboratory environment where attention to detail and accuracy are crucial. Your expertise and knowledge in histology will contribute to providing high-quality patient care.

VA Business Hours: VA CCHCS Laboratory operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week; including Federal Holidays.

Work Schedule: hours will be Monday through Friday, 0600 to 1430

Requirements

• Qualifications:
• Education: at minimum Associate's degree in Histotechnology or related field (Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist)
• Certification: Histology technician certification (HT) through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
• BLS Certification
• License: Contract personnel must have a current Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist license, proof of current license must be provided
• Continuing Education: All continuing education courses required for maintaining license must be kept up to date.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Histology Technician
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of histology techniques and procedures
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
