POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Medical Nutrition Specialist at Kate Farms, you will be vital in providing expert medical nutrition guidance and support to the cross functional consumer facing teams within the organization, the end users/caregivers of nutrition formulas, and healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert on health needs, medical nutrition formulas, and specialized nutrition and representing the lens of the consumer, caregiver, and patient. Your role will consist of responding to medical inquiries, which consist of clinical questions and concerns, gaining and sharing of consumer insights from all relevant customer care/medical inquiry data, developing and conducting internal educational sessions, and supporting dietetic nutrition interns. This role requires a deep understanding of medical nutrition, dietetics, and nutrition science and a genuine passion for improving the lives of others through evidence-based nutrition solutions.   

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as a subject matter expert on products, attributes, and science as they relate to the Kate Farms product portfolio, specialized nutrition and medical food products.
    • Support the sales and customer care teams and respond to questions and concerns (aka: medical inquiries) related to direct patient care and overall use of the products.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for consumers and healthcare professionals. Serve as a point of contact for sales, marketing, and product development teams as related to clinical nutrition topics and review of relevant materials. Clarify patient/HCP problems reflected within medical inquiries, determine urgency, respond appropriately (within designated SOP timeframes) to resolve, and elevate concerns to the VP and CMO as warranted.
  • Create and regularly monitor reports on medical inquiries to assess overall service to the patients/caregivers/HCPs and to gain insight into consumer and HCP experiences with products and product information.
  • Providing comprehensive education and training on Kate Farms nutrition formulas to customer care, quality assurance, brand/consumer marketing and other consumer facing teams within and outside of Kate Farms, as needed. Quarterly audits and updates the customer care database of approved nutrition and product information (Internal FAQ’s) and ensures up-to-date brand and medical sciences messaging is incorporated into responses.
  • Gather and analyze market and competitor information to gain consumer insights on nutrition related topics and products.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of nutrition science, nutrition and clinical research, and overall industry trends.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in food/nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a healthcare or nutrition-related role.
  • 2-4 years of clinical experience with experience in enteral nutrition therapy.

·        Knowledge of medical food formulas and enteral nutrition in pediatric and adult patients.

  • Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian through CDR.
  • CNSC preferred, not required.
  • The ability to understand, interpret, and communicate medical and scientific information is essential.
  • The ability to translate nutrition information into written communication is essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex medical and nutritional information.
  • Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy and the ability to apply evidence-based guidelines in clinical practice.
  • Strong understanding of enteral nutrition devices, guidelines, and management.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This position will work in a home/office environment with occasional trips to the corporate office or other meeting locations. Requires 25% travel.

Salary Minimum : $ 70,338 Salary Maximum $93,000.    [The hourly rate for this position ranges between $xxx - $xxx.  The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Kate Farms salary range for this position.  This range will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, internal pay
