About the Job:

The Customer Experience department is seeking a Marketing Specialist II with a focus on graphic design to bring innovative ideas and expertise to the internal and external teams. This role plays a key part in shaping and maintaining the Authority’s brand identity through impactful visual storytelling, ensuring designs are consistent and compelling across all marketing channels.

Working collaboratively under the guidance of senior marketing staff, this position involves conceptualizing, executing, and refining design projects that enhance both the passenger and community experience. The role offers the chance to contribute to designs that extend beyond the airport, influencing how the brand is perceived across a broad audience. With involvement in high-profile branding initiatives and access to cutting-edge tools, this opportunity is ideal for a designer looking to leave a meaningful impact where creativity and purpose converge.

What You’ll Do:

  • Brand Development: Assist in producing and executing marketing materials to create a consistent and impactful brand experience across all channels while maintaining SAN branding and logo accuracy.
  • Design Execution: Collaborate with senior marketing staff and external partners to conceptualize and execute design projects, ensuring timely delivery from initial brief to final approval.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement established marketing policies and standards, ensuring all projects align with organizational goals and branding guidelines.
  • Feedback Integration: Present design work to internal stakeholders, address feedback, and refine projects to meet approval standards.
  • Creative Collaboration: Participate in design discussions, provide input on visual direction, and support team members in achieving cohesive branding outcomes.
  • Process Optimization: Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance marketing efficiency and effectiveness based on identified needs.

Requirements

The Experience You Need to Have**:

  • Three years of progressively responsible marketing and advertising experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements :

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority’s vehicle insurance policy.
  • Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background investigation, training, and testing required for employment and operation and operation of Authority and San Diego County physical security, surveillance, radio and telecommunications equipment.

Preferred Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in commercial service airport or aviation industry is desirable.
