Full Job Description
The Quality Control Manager manages the inspection areas such as Incoming Inspection, In-process Inspection, and Final Inspection. Supervises the inspection staff and oversees all operations related to the inspection areas. The role is the focal point for internal customers to ensure the incoming material and final products meet On-Time Delivery and Product Quality.
The QC Manager will design, develop, implement, and monitor quality systems that deliver products based on customers’ expectations.
The role interacts with different internal departments and is a key contributor to the success of the company operations by participating or proposing strategies that maximize throughput and eliminate non-value-added activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and systems
Responsible for Inspection KPIs assigned by management
Ensure the business remains compliant with ISO 9001, AS9100, customers, and/ or the government and regulatory (FAA / EASA) requirements
Manage all activities in Incoming Inspection, In-Process Inspection, and Final inspection
Monitor processes to identify areas for improvement
Train staff on quality control procedures and external/internal requirements
Collaborate with other managers/departments to ensure product is delivered on time
Ensure Inspection areas follow processes and best practices
Engage the concerned functions to solve problems or improve quality by adopting higher level expectations.
Apply educated Root Cause Corrective Action analysis to problem solving
Manage daily inspection priorities and allocation of staff depending on the business needs
Supervise inspectors and other staff members and provide guidance
Collaborate with Quality Engineering in the creation of inspection plans for raw materials, components, and assemblies from suppliers and monitor their compliance
Utilize Lean Principles to improve key KPIs/Processes such as On-Time Delivery and Product Quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations or related field of study
- 5+ years of progress Quality and/or Regulatory experience within the Aerospace industry
- 3+ years of experience working in a Management role
- Basic knowledge of budgetary process
- Strong understanding and experience with FAA Part 21 and FAA Part 145 is required
- Strong understanding of AS9100 requirements and/or FAA/EASA regulations
- Prior exposure to the manufacture of electronic components for Aerospace application
- Write and update standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Perform data collection and statically analysis on the data to drive decisions
- Strong attention to detail, observation, organizational, and leadership skills
- In-depth knowledge of Quality Improvement and Lean Manufacturing methodologies
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
Benefits
The starting pay range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
