Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician with a solid background in process and utility equipment, ideally within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical setting. This role involves critical responsibilities in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair production mechanical equipment.
- Support the maintenance, operation, and repair of all systems, subsystems, and equipment within the Amgen Fill/Finish facility.
- Assist engineering and operations teams with design, installation, testing, and maintenance of Fill/Finish manufacturing and support equipment.
- Ensure all equipment and subsystems meet Federal, State, Local, and company standards, maintaining areas in inspection-ready condition.
- Identify training needs and deliver training as required to ensure competency across teams.
- Regularly evaluate and improve maintenance practices, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Collaborate with contractors for equipment repairs, modifications, and installations.
- Work directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams on new equipment installations or system modifications.
- Complete all cGMP and Safety training and maintain required qualifications.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, mechanical seals, motors, and lubrication.
- Experience with machine shop equipment, including CNC machines and lathes.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Ability to work safely with hazardous materials, high/low temperature liquids, and various pressure systems.
Top 3 Must-Have Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in Process and/or Utility Equipment.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting tasks in Utilities, Warehouse, and Packaging areas.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years in process or utility equipment maintenance, ideally in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems; knowledge of HVAC and familiarity with work order systems.
- Documentation Skills: Strong attention to detail and understanding of cGMP documentation requirements.
- Technical Writing: Ability to create, read, interpret, and revise engineering documents; prepare detailed technical reports.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights up to 15 feet.
- Education: Associate degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or High School diploma/GED with 6 years of experience.
Schedule:
- Flexible; initial training on Day shift until Jan/Feb 2025.
- Starting late January/early February, the shift will transition to 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM, Monday - Friday, expected to last until December 2025 and potentially beyond.
