Job Overview
Planetart is looking for a talented, driven, and highly analytical, Logistics Data Analyst to join our Operations and Supply Chain team. The candidate will have strong analytical skills and using data to drive business decisions and reduce cost. The candidate will have knowledge and experience with major Carrier ship options and packaging guidelines. The candidate should have experience with international freight (UK/EU) as well as domestic shipping for international territories.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates much be local to or willing to relocate to the Calabasas area as we operate on a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 remote)
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations.
- Develop tool to monitor worldwide ship method accuracy from all ship facilities.
- Develop automation for freight cost reporting for business partners.
- Design exception based reporting highlighting and analyzing outliers.
- Weekly discussions reporting on pricing gaps, spot quotes, and areas of improvement.
- Discover the most cost-effective shipping modes.
- Collaborate with IT professionals to implement effective processes and systems.
Requirements
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements
- Proven expertise managing, evaluating, analyzing quickly, and creating meaningful business reporting and analytics
- Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with your business partners – you influence the decisions. You can root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then assist, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect costs in their sites and create new mechanisms as they are needed
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related
- 5+ years of experience with Excel advanced tools (pivots, lookups, etc.)
- Advanced SQL knowledge to pull data into BI tools such as Tableau, or Power Queries within Excel
- Knowledge of freight carriers and audit processes
- Experience in data mining, analysis, and reporting
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, relational databases, and ERP systems (e.g., JDE)
- Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g., Inventory planning, warehouse management)
- Strong analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Great interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions

- This is a hybrid position; interns are expected to be in the office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option of working remotely two days (Wednesday and Friday).
Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annual salary.
