Goat Hill Tavern is hiring a part-time Lead Doorman to join our team. The successful candidate will have security experience and experience managing security at a bar or similar setting. 

As a lead doorman, you are responsible for providing training for the new doormen, ensuring they are following company policies and state law requirements, promoting safety, and ensuring responsible alcoholic beverage consumption for guests, as well as performing the regular duties of a security doorman at the bar. Must be able and is required to determine legitimacy of ID's and refuse service/entry to anyone overly intoxicated. Assist all team members in providing a positive and memorable experience at establishment and ensure a safe premise for all. Ability to quickly build rapport with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.

Job Duties:

• Provide training for new security doormen. 
• Ensure all security staff are taking their required breaks during their shifts.
• Ensure all security doormen are following company policies and state law requirements. 
• Check all customer IDs to ensure everyone is of legal age.
• Preserve orderliness with all patrons and customers.
• Be able to identify and disallow entry to those already intoxicated or acting erratically.
• Ensure patrons and employee’s safety, following company procedures.
• Responsible for deducting any suspicious happenings and preventing vandalism, thefts, or any other criminal behavior.
• Escorting rowdy or unwelcome guests off our premises.
• Report urgent security-related matters to management and local authorities.
• Monitor in-and-out foot traffic.
• Assist with cleaning the bar and common areas.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Pay: $22 - 23/hour, depending on experience

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience as security staff, doorman, or a similar role in a bar or similar setting. 
• Must have excellent verbal communication abilities.
• Must have certifications: Security guard card (or similar security certification), RBS certificate is preferred but not required. 
• Critical thinker and problem-solver.
• Work well as a team member and independently.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced busy bar environment, while keeping a cool head during stressful situations.
