Job Title: LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
OVERVIEW OF ASSIGNMENT
The Lab Tech position will support the laboratory and chemists performing laboratory analyses. The Lab Tech will be responsible for sample handling, sample media preparation, sample extraction, solution preparation, and other duties relevant to production laboratory operations.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education -- A minimum of twenty-four (24) semester units (36 quarter units) in chemistry is required which must include the following courses: general chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical methods, and the applicable laboratory sections. Courses in instrumentation, mathematics (at the calculus level), statistics and introduction to data processing are desirable. The most competitive consultant will also have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or similar field.
2. Experience -- Experience is not required, but laboratory experience is highly desired. Consultant with the most directly-related or transferable experience will be given highest consideration.
