Job Title: Lab Technician ( Molecular Diagnostics)

Salary Range: $20-$24 per hour

A Lab Technician is a professional responsible for organizing, coordinating, and managing laboratory activities. Here is a common job description for a Lab Technician:

Sample Collection and Preparation: Collect, process, and prepare biological samples (such as blood, tissue, or saliva) for molecular analysis. Ensure samples are handled under appropriate conditions to prevent contamination or degradation

Molecular Testing and Analysis: Conduct molecular diagnostic tests to identify genetic mutations, infections, or diseases. Techniques may include PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA sequencing, and microarray analysis

Data Interpretation: Analyze test results to identify genetic variants, pathogens, or biomarkers. Utilize specialized software for data analysis and interpretation.

Quality Control and Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.

Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed records of all tests performed and their outcomes. Prepare and present reports on findings to healthcare providers or research teams.

Compliance with Standards: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures. Comply with regulatory requirements and ensure the confidentiality and ethical handling of patient information.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with laboratory staff, researchers, and healthcare professionals to discuss test results or research findings. Communicate effectively to explain complex molecular concepts in understandable terms.

Continuing Education: Stay updated with advancements in molecular diagnostics, laboratory techniques, and relevant regulations. Participate in training or professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in a biology-related field.
• Prior experience in the IVD (In Vitro Diagnostics) industry is preferred.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Fluency in both Chinese and English languages.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of laboratory safety protocols and compliance.
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills to manage laboratory activities efficiently.
• Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Proficient in data analysis and record-keeping.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with laboratory members and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
• Continuous learning attitude to keep up with advancements in the field.
