SUMMARY
Oakwood School is seeking a full time kindergarten assistant teacher from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This position is for the 2024-2025 school year beginning in August 2024.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support classroom teacher with group and individual instruction
- Plan, supervise, and implement the afterschool curriculum
- Supervise indoor and outdoor activities
- Demonstrate patience, respect, and a commitment to families and children
- Participate in all school events
- Help maintain classroom and school
- Ability to be flexible, reliable, and punctual
- Support and follow school policies and procedures
- Be a positive and contributing member of the Oakwood community
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion to work with children and their families
- Candidates must be willing to be trained in CPR and First Aid or currently certified
- We are seeking people who are self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic team players
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 24 ECE units required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Ability to see, hear, and speak to exchange information in a proficient manner
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, bend, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-30 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement
- Ability to reach overhead and horizontally
- Ability to work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time
- Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
- Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations on campus
- Moderate to loud noise levels
- Occasional to frequent interruptions
COMPENSATION
This position has an expected pay scale of $22.00-$27.00 an hour depending on prior experience, education, and job requirements.
