Junior Visual Designer - Part-Time

Herman-Scheer is a brand consultancy that creates brands, products, and experiences for businesses that keep people healthy. We focus on a range of sectors, including disruptive healthcare, wellness technology, healthy food and beverages, fitness and recreation, and personal care. We have a 15 person team that is primarily remote with an office space in Santa Monica for occasional in person meetings and working sessions. This will be a minimum 20/hr per week role.

As a Visual Designer, you’ll be working alongside creative directors, strategists, copywriters, and other designers to help create a diverse range of design projects for our client partners that will be highly differentiated, strategic, and effective for their respective business goals. 

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design: Collaborate closely with our team to deliver graphic design support across a spectrum of client projects encompassing branding, web design, packaging, social media, and more.
• Conceptual Development: Contribute creative ideas and concepts for branding, campaigns, product launches, and other marketing initiatives.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including creative directors, designers, copywriters and account managers to bring design concepts to life and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
• Presentation Skills: Effectively present design concepts and rationale behind creative decisions, showing design process, research and inspiration. 
• Learning and Growth: Actively seek feedback and guidance from senior team members, and proactively engage in learning opportunities to enhance your skills and expand your knowledge of design principles and industry trends.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field. 
• 1-2 years of internship / agency / freelance experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Figma & Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Familiarity working in Keynote, Google Slides, Notion, Slack, Mid-journey/AI platforms is a plus.
• Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently & manage time autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Passion for design and eagerness to learn and grow in a creative agency setting.

Part-Time Hourly [20hrs]: $25/hr
