Junior Software Developer Intern

Faro Health aims to improve lives by helping life sciences companies answer complex clinical questions, simply, efficiently and effectively. Our software platform is used to orchestrate complex clinical development with a single source of truth. It brings words, data and teams together, empowering researchers to design more intelligent trials, master complexity and reach milestones faster.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for software development to join our team as an intern in the Software Engineering Team. This is a full-time internship position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and fast-paced team of software professionals while gaining valuable experience. • Gain proficiency in programming languages and tools relevant to our technology stack
• Successfully contribute code to ongoing projects under the guidance of senior developers
• Complete assigned tasks and projects within given timelines
• Show resilience and a positive attitude towards constructive criticism
• Contribute positively to the work environment and team dynamics

Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of a mentor contribute to improvements to the user interface of our application
• Under the supervision of a mentor write complex functional and unit test 
• Analyze web page performance 
• Participate in team meetings and present progress updates as required

Requirements

Requirements:

• Knowledge of or experience with TypeScript, HTML, SCSS, Node.js and ideally a unit testing framework (vitest, jest, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of React (or other JS framework Angular/Vue) and understanding of its core principles. Some experience is a plus, such as a personal project or internship work.
• Experience with relational databases is a plus
• Experience in data analytics is a plus
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and take on different assignments
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills
• Understanding of software development

Education:

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in computer science or equivalent
• Prior internship experience or professional programming experience is preferred

Location:

This is a hybrid remote position. The candidate must be located within a driving distance to the San Diego office to be able to participate in the meetings in person as needed.
