JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Accountant will receive on-the-job instruction and training under close supervision of the Foundation Senior Accountant. The Junior Accountant will support the Accounting Department through an array of tasks. The Junior Accountant will perform a variety of clerical accounting duties, ranging from low to average complexity, or routine and repetitive clerical accounting duties on a continuous basis; and receive evaluations periodically as the training progresses to ensure performance milestones are met and critical competencies are assessed.
Hourly Pay: $21.63- $27.03 per hour

Requirements
**TB TEST REQUIRED*
- Accurately review, code, and process revenue and expenses in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Process invoices, issue checks, and corresponding with vendors and staff
- Review accounts for discrepancies; assist with reconciling differences;
- Assist in preparing adjusting journal entries
- Assist with account reconciliations - month and year end
- Assist with Fixed Assets depreciation schedules & Property Inventory
- Assist with Grant Management, Contract Management, Contract Audits, internal audits and restricted funds reconciliation
- Purchasing Agent / Organizational Buyer
- Assist with assigned Program Initiatives
- Assists with Campaigns AND attend Foundation Events is required
- Other duties assigned by Senior Foundation Accountant and Foundation Directors
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Currently enrolled in an Accounting Program or a degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university
- Minimum of 2 years in an accounting role and/or admin assistant role
- Must have the ability to learn new software; Prior experience in QuickBook is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and/or Google Suites
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); Prior experience and knowledge of GAAP in a non-profit or government environment is a plus

- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills, detail-oriented, proactive/self-starter, multi-task oriented and adaptable to change required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment that is focused on social-cultural change
- Ability to work both independently and within a team to meet critical deadlines
- Sincere commitment to working collaboratively with all constituent groups including management and staff, board members, donors/funders/sponsors, volunteers, and other supporters
