Full Job Description
The Moreno Valley Public Library Mall Branch Intern will provide customer service-oriented technical support ensuring functionality of IT equipment utilized by company staff and library patrons. Effectively communicates technical concepts and requirements in a manner appropriate to given audiences. Provides training to staff and patrons on new systems and software.
The Intern operates within the Gaming and Technology Center in the Moreno Valley Public Library Mall Branch. This role will support the Branch Manager and the Youth Library Associate in overseeing the activities and operations of the gaming and technology center, Gamer’s Lair. This will include maintenance of equipment and facility needs, development of educational programs, and promotion of the gaming and technology center to the community.

Requirements
What you will do:
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Must be able to work a total of 141 hours before June 30th.
• Provide entry level IT support for library staff
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems encountered by end-users
• Provide basic networking support
• Effectively communicate with manager, staff, and end users regarding unresolved problems
• Other duties as assigned
What you will bring:
An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.
• Able to communicate with diverse populations, English/Spanish bilingual a plus.
• Possess good written and oral communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer networking, hardware and software systems.
• General knowledge of computer troubleshooting.
• Ability to provide instruction in basic computer use-hardware and software.
Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.
• Occasionally lift, push/pull, hold/carry items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, books, and other materials.
