About the Job:

The Human Resources department is looking for a highly detail-oriented HR Analyst I with a strong focus on leave of absences (LOA) to manage and administer the organization’s leave programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role will also support benefits administration and other components of the total rewards program, contributing to the organization’s strategic goals in compensation and employee wellness.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong knowledge of leave policies (including FMLA, ADA, etc.), and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while providing exceptional support to employees and managers regarding their leave and benefits inquiries. This role provides the opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking HR team, where you will serve as a point of contact for employees' benefits inquiries, advocating for their needs while contributing to a rewarding workplace environment. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and track employee leave programs: Oversee the in-house leave of absence program (FMLA, ADA, military, personal, etc.), ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for leave inquiries: Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers, addressing leave-related inquiries and ensuring smooth communication.
  • Administer benefit plans: Using a third-party benefits administrator, support the Compensation & Benefits department in managing health & welfare, life, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Support strategic total rewards goals: Assist in achieving organizational goals related to compensation, benefits, and employee wellness.
  • Administer compensation plans: Perform compensation plan tasks such as annual reviews, equity analysis, survey participation, and organizational education.
  • Manage vendor relations and contracts: Collaborate with the Compensation & Benefits department to manage third-party vendor relations and contracts, ensuring service excellence.

  3. Project Management: Ability to determine appropriate measures to achieve project goals and prioritize the measures; able to fully engage project participants to deliver an acceptable result in the time allocated.
  4. Problem Solving/Agility:  Ability to analyze a situation or and collaboratively generate alternative solutions, readily adapt behavior or new work methods for evolving and unexpected situations and/or obstacles.
  5. Communication:  Effectively exchange information with stakeholders through various avenues, including but not limited to verbal, written, facilitation, and persuasion.
  6. Knowledge Application: Proficiently interprets and applies current local, state, and federal regulations, monitors processes, and develops a framework for implementation and improvement.

Requirements

The Experience You Need to Have**:

  • Two years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources, preferably in administering leave of absence, benefit plans, and compensation programs and any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Graduating from an accredited college or university with a degree in business, human resource management, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in business, human resource management, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, CBP, CEBS, or CCP designation.
  • Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS), Certified Leave and Disability Specialist (CLDS), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Certification, Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
