Our partner is hiring a Health Officer in Berkeley, CA to join their team.
Role Overview:
- Serve as the primary advisor to the Director of Health, Housing, and Community Services.
- Engage with the City Manager, City Council, and Commissions on critical public health issues.
- Provide indirect oversight of 11 public health nurses.
- Be a member of the Health, Housing, and Community Services executive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on public health matters.
- Communicate effectively with the community and stakeholders.
- Navigate public health policy and administration with political acumen.
- Align the Department’s strategies with the City’s overarching goals.
- Drive initiatives to address community health challenges and improve resident well-being.
Requirements
Ideal Candidate:
- Licensed physician with significant scientific and epidemiological knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Political savvy and experience navigating complex public health landscapes.
- Influential leader with a vision for progressive and responsive public health.
