Ground Control

As a Ground Controller, you are instrumental in radiating friendliness, ensuring safety, and delivering a seamless disposal experience, making our customers' lives easier one visit at a time. You will play a key role in maintaining the daily traffic flow throughout the facility, ensuring all customers enter and exit safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

• Direct traffic onsite as necessary in an efficient and friendly manner  
• Operate general vehicles and equipment (Pickup Trucks, Sweepers, Water Trucks, Forklifts, Magnetic Floor Sweeper,  etc.) 
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify any maintenance needs.
• Inspect incoming loads and report material type to the correct staff
• Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic while maintaining communication with team members 
• Perform daily yard work, including sweeping, cleaning, and maintaining the yard area to ensure a safe and tidy working environment
• Maintain assigned company communication devices 
• Clearly communicate the drop-off process and the allowable materials to the customers.
• Respond to customers in a professional and courteous manner 
• Adheres to the Company’s safety standards 
• Communicate with team members and other departments about all hazards in the facility.

Compensation:

• $23.00-$28.00

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Must have proficiency in English 
• Critical thinking skills 
• Will be required to work overtime, weekends, and during emergency conditions 
• Ability to be on feet for long periods of time 
• Be comfortable in high dirt and dust environments during shift 
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 
• Ability to follow directions and communicate with all levels 
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.  
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
• Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a laborer 
• Bilingual
