Full Job Description

CALPAK is looking for a part-time Community Manager to work up to 10 hours a week engaging on TikTok and Instagram. This role is for someone who has a strong knowledge of copywriting, social media trends and understands how to think strategically against the brands goals.

Requirements

  • Community Engagement:
    • Actively engage on TikTok, focusing on the comment sections to build relationships and foster positive interactions.
    • Execute CALPAK’s community strategy by engaging with followers and proactively interacting with CALPAK-approved SEO terms, hashtags, brands, and influencers.
    • Occasionally support engagement on other channels, including the Instagram Broadcast channel, to maintain a consistent and positive brand presence across all platforms.
    • Encourage conversations and interactions, responding to comments and fostering a welcoming community atmosphere.

  • Social Monitoring & Trend Reporting:
    • Monitor community sentiment and engagement on TikTok, using Hootsuite and TikTok’s native tools for trend alerts and community insights.
    • Identify trending topics, keywords, and cultural moments, providing reports to the CALPAK team to ensure alignment with current trends and timely reactions to key moments.

Parameters:

  • Experience:
    • At least 1 year of experience in community management, with a strong understanding of TikTok’s platform, including its comment dynamics and user behavior.
    • Proven ability to align with brand tone and build relationships within online communities, promoting a positive brand presence, with a portfolio or writing examples demonstrating past work.
  • Proactivity and Brand Alignment:
    • Demonstrated ability to proactively seek out engagement opportunities and stay in tune with CALPAK’s brand voice and community engagement goals.
    • Ability to maintain a positive and consistent brand presence across multiple channels, engaging with audiences in a way that reflects CALPAK’s values and personality.
  • Tools & Resources:
    • Proficient in using Hootsuite and TikTok’s native tools for trend monitoring, sentiment tracking, and reporting.
    • Skilled at interpreting and acting on trend reports and social listening snapshots to keep the CALPAK team informed and responsive.

Deliverables: 

  • 2 hours daily engagement (10 hrs a week)
  • 1 hour weekly TB meeting
  • 1-2 hours of Basecamp administrative work 
  • TikTok will be the priority channel, with adhoc on IG (ex Broadcast Channel or support during high volume periods)
  • Share 2-3 trending conversation opportunities a week with the social team
