Fleet Operations Management
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize fleet operations and reduce vehicle downtime.
- Manage inventory control to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely processing and payment of invoices.
- Assess operational needs and provide recommendations for optimal vehicle utilization.
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained and serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Identify and address vehicle damages or misuse promptly.
- Establish long-term relationships with fleet vendors to ensure reliable services.
Cost Control and Budgeting
- Provide budget recommendations and oversee fleet operation expenses.
- Monitor and optimize fuel consumption, implement cost-saving strategies, and forecast budgetary needs.
- Analyze variances and develop plans to contain costs effectively.
Fleet Reporting and Analysis
- Maintain accurate records, including service logs, registrations, licenses, and insurance.
- Monitor compliance with transportation industry regulations.
- Generate detailed reports on fleet performance, fuel usage, and maintenance costs.
- Analyze fleet data to identify areas for improvement and make actionable recommendations to management.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor Fleet Coordinators/Supervisors, assigning responsibilities and setting performance goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to support continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, communication, and learning within the fleet management team.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; startup experience is a plus.
- Experience: At least 5 years managing Last Mile Delivery Fleets with a minimum of 200 vehicles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and Google Suite, with the ability to analyze large datasets, create pivot tables, visualize data, and make informed decisions.
- Fleet Operations: Proven experience managing multiple sites and handling contract negotiations with fleet vendors (e.g., Enterprise, Penske).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build partnerships and foster consensus across various organizational levels.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30%.
